Generously Equipped & Comfortable
The generously equipped house and garden provides you with a comfortable environment in which to unwind or use as a base for exploring local towns, coast and vineyards.
Muted colours, soft furnishings and unique art work contribute to the relaxing pace of life.
Radiators, and a woodburning stove fuelled with logs from our own woods, provide warmth and ambiance for chilly out-of-season evenings, making this a practical house for short or long breaks at any time of the year.
The two large double bedrooms on the first floor, each have their own shower or bathroom. Unbleached cotton bed linen, lots of plump feather pillows and large, soft, fluffy towels help to ensure a peaceful nights sleep.
The house is fully self-contained to give you total independence, but if you’d prefer to have some meals provided, contact Helen to discuss your requirements.
Relax & Explore
There are woodlands, caves and a stream to explore; quiet places to sit and read a book; private spots for picnicing by the babbling stream or amongst the vines; and a shady flower filled garden from which you can enjoy the views of our valley and vines. Or just curl up with a book on chilly winter evenings in front of the wood burner.
If you prefer a more active holiday, we can provide you with walking, cycling and running routes; a list of places to visit and point you in the direction of a fantastic array of restaurants in which to sample local food and wine!

“Whilst visiting Gensac and St Emillion for a wedding weekend we booked Chateau de Claribes. From the moment we arrived we had such a warm welcome from Helen who owns the cottage and vineyard. We were immediately impressed as the surroundings were so peaceful and stunning (yet still very close to Gensac). The cottage was gorgeous, so clean and decorated in a modern French shabby chic style adorned with peonies and fresh roses from the garden. It also had a fantastic modern kitchen, which had everything (even a dishwasher!). Wine (from the vineyard) had also been left chilling in the fridge!! We had a baby of 5 months with us and I think he enjoyed his stay as much as us. The cot was so clean and comfy as the baby slept well all 3 nights! Overall the cottage was perfect and Helen was so kind taking us wine tasting and helping us with Taxi’s. It was a perfect weekend.”
