Night markets (marche nocturne)

Night markets take place over the summer months, June to September.  They are held in our local villages of Gensac and Pessac as well as the larger towns of Sainte Foy la Grande and Castillon.

Dates for the year are usually announced in April. Check back here for a list of dates.

Dine Alfresco at the Night Markets

The night markets are very popular. They provide a great opportunity for informal, alfresco dinning. In Gensac they take place in the beautifully renovated main square.

Artisan food and wine can be bought from local producers. For example – try a salad with warm goats cheese from the farm at Pessac; local melon; beef from Les Remparts; Magret from Cafe de la Paix; vegetarian or fish brochettes from Le Gensaké; Escargots; followed by a selection of cheeses; patisserie; Morrocan pastries or local fruit. And for the children – candy floss and sweets galore! All accompanied by wines from Chateaux that surround Gensac. Live music and dancing!
