The recent blind tasting for the 10th Year anniversary of the Côtes de Bordeaux sees two Château de Claribès wines selected.
Jane Anson, Decanter’s Bordeaux correspondent, conducted the tasting of wine from across all the whole Côtes de Bordeaux family.
Seven white wines made it through to the final selection. Château de Claribès cent pour cent Sauvignon 2018 is one of the seven selected. It achieved the second highest rating in the blind tasting, scoring 91 points.
Five red wines from Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux made it onto the list. In this category, Château de Claribès wines selected include Marpeau 2017, gaining a score of 89 points.
In Janes words “It’s now 10 years since the AOC Côtes de Bordeaux has brought together the winemakers of Blaye, Cadillac, Castillon, Francs and now Sainte Foy, making sense of their common approach to producing deliciously fruity, unfussy, affordable wines that almost invariably have real families behind them, winemakers that live onsite in their estates and work outside in their own vineyards or in their cellars every day.”
